Migrant workers,the owned group of china,evolution of the groups interweaves with Chinese social development.Although,mass media keep focusing on them,these are short of extrude reports which integrate depth and range.In the report of the family of Fei,News Probe takes advantage of depth and penetrates into migrant worker job and life to show more comprehensive and true group.This report takes Fei Wenming who comes from Anhui Province and makes a living in Beijing as object.Fei is thirty years old,and he came to Beijing to learn painting work with his uncle Fei Likui in sixteen years old.His wife also does her job as a cosmetologist in Beijing.In his relatives,there are more than thirty people working in city,including Fei Likui couple,his aunt's nephew Wan Qingquan and so on.Like many other migrant workers working in city,except working day and night,Fei and his families scrape and screw to achieve dreams step by step.Furthermore,during doing jobs in city for long time,.migrant workers including Fei and his families have unconsciously been influenced.It reflects improvement of overall quality and notion transformation.But it causes loss of talent of country to a degree.This paper takes the report about migrant workers of the Family of Fei made by News Probe as object using thick description of new historicism.And I use case study method,literature review method,comparative research method to explore social change of medium mirror image of migrant workers.The main body of this paper is split into three chapters,they are narrative characteristic on migrant workers report and,discourse expression of migrant workers and something that other mass media.can learn from,during the social transition period.When it comes to narration of migrant workers report,firstly,investigative reporter plays as main narrator,and insiders in matter are assistants.Duringinvestment,report would not intervene in matter,and insiders amplify somethings involved the report.Neutral narrator is precondition of objective reporting.Then,using montage to arrange time and space makes comparison the urban and rural connected by peasant-worker.This extrudes decline of countryside that young adults go away.Next,narrative point of view is internal focalization which makes special small potato as key.In the report of the family of Fei,News Probe focus on Fei and his family.From the detail of their life and working,we can know they struggle in ordinary life just like other common people.Lastly,symbol system consistting of dialogue,caption,costume,motion and so on vividly shows the firm and tenacious of peasant-worker and their optimistic spiritual outlook.In terms of discourse expression,due to be enslaved to their knowledge level and media literacy,migrant workers are absolutely in a weak position competing with media and intellectual elite,even in losing the voice.There are some reports in mass media about migrant workers,but no lacking of untrue negative report or publicity catering mainstream discourse.Social elites concern on migrant workers more from their own perspective,they do not put migrant workers in dominant position.News Probe,as mainstream discourse terrace,makes discourse terrace for migrant workers to let them to tell their own stories.It breaks stereotyped image of migrant workers existing in people mind and shows migrant workers image of cities builders?Christian and the self-reliant.Meanwhile,migrant workers change their views about urban and rural space and personal value.For the reason of being accustomed to cities life,they gradually go away from village.They think themselves as that from survivors to contributors of city.This paper combined with characteristics of the Family of Fei made by News Probe gives such three suggestions that help mass media to make reporting better during the social transition period.Firstly,the principle of objectivity has to be stuck to in every report.Mass media present the narrative and discourse as a neutral party.The reporter makes no comment and lets the person in the event to tell what they see,hear and think of.To show what happen to the maximum extent,they use the narration appropriately to explain fact and background.Then,it finds social problems with a humanistic perspective and does its best to help solving these.Lastly,media should try leading the mainstream values in reports.
