The Internet has been developing rapidly since it came into being.Nevertheless,with the increasing scale,a good many problems have emerged,such as mobility,security,extendibility,low efficiency of resource,which are resulted from the weaknesses of the Internet architecture.In order to solve these problems,National Engineering Laboratory for Next Generation Internet Interconnection Devices of Beijing Jiaotong University proposed Smart and Collaborative Network system structure.Smart and Collaborative Network system structure is an Information-Centric Network.Contents can be cached by intermediate nodes.In order to fulfill the requirement of Smart and Collaborative Network system structure,the paper propose a new transport protocol,named Per-hop reliable transport protocol in the paper.In addition,its design scheme and implementation method are scientifically described and the topology is built to test the functions and performances.Firstly,the paper analyzes the problems in the current network,introduces the property of Smart and Collaborative Network system structure briefly and then proposes the meaning of Per-hop reliable transport protocol.Secondly,relevant concepts and technologies are introduced in the process of the research,including Smart and Collaborative Network system structure,socket and cache replacement algorithm.Thirdly,the paper describes the design of per-hop reliable transport protocol,including per-hop and per-chunk transport,mechanism of congestion control and mechanism of congestion relief.Fourthly,the implementation of the protocol is accomplished in the paper,including transmitting terminal,router and receiving terminal.There are the 7 modules constituting the transmitting terminal:data read module,successive sending module,end packet sending module,end packet retransmission module,data retransmission module,acknowledgment process module,congestion control module.The intermediate router includes data packet process module,end packet process module,acknowledgements sending module,data copying from receiving region to sending region module,congestion reduce module,data retransmission module,acknowledgements process module,end packet retransmission module.Receiving terminal includes data packet process module,end packet process module and acknowledgements retransmission module.Finally,testing topology is built to verity the function and performance of per-hop reliable transport protocol.Function test consists of content integrity and congestion control.Performance test is divided into throughput variance with hops,time delay and packet loss rate and compassion with TCP.The implementation of per-hop reliable transport protocol raises the efficiency of packet transport effectively and establishes foundation to the deployment of next generation of network.
