In Wireless Mesh Network,limit of transmission resource is the main problem it faces,and the widespread conflict phenomenon further reduces its effective capacity.SDN(Software Defined Networking)technology has separated network control functions from forwarding nodes and has implemented centralized network management.Introducing SDN technology into Wireless Mesh Network to construct Software Defined Wireless Mesh Network can mitigate conflict problems by focusing on efficient flow planning and transmission resource allocation and improve the throughput of Wireless Mesh Network.But there is still a lack of sound simulation platform to support the field of research.To this end,this paper has designed and implemented a Software Defined Wireless Mesh Network experiment platform and has validated its function and performance to support subsequent protocol design and performance evaluation.Specifically,the main work of the paper is as follows:Firstly,it has been analysed the related technologies of implementing Software Defined Wireless Mesh Network experiment platform have been,such as Linux container,Tun/Tap virtual network device,CORE(Common Open Research Emulator)and NS3 network simulators,OLSR(Optimized Link State Routing)routing protocol,OVS switch(Open vSwitch)and POX controller.Secondly,it has introduced the functional structure,deployment architecture,basic model and platform design of the Software Defined Wireless Mesh Network experiment platform.In addition,the flow-mod control message for the flow table entry,the interface between the GS algorithm and the module of the experimental platform has been polled.Thirdly,it has implemented of Software Defined Wireless Mesh Network experiment platform and polling GS(Gateway Selection)algorithm and the related functions of their work.Finally,it has verified the support of the Software Defined Wireless Mesh Network experiment platform for polling GS algorithm,controller failure and gateway failure.The experimental results have showed that the platform has good support for them.In addition,this paper has also simulated the verification of the influence of network size on the percentage of control packets.The experimental results have showed that they will increase with the expansion of network size.In short,this paper builds a Software Defined Wireless Mesh Network experiment platform to realize the combination of SDN and Wireless Mesh Network.The work of this paper can provide experimental support for subsequent software definition of Wireless Mesh Network research,such as controller failure,gateway failure and their recovery.
