A Study On The Coping Style And Social Support Of Muslims' Taboo

According to the history and the articles of intercultural communication research both at home and abroad,the study of taboo has not been given enough prominence,especially in the part of Muslims' taboo.With the implementation of the policy of freedom of religious belief in China,the group of Muslims is becoming larger and larger with more requirements of social understanding and support in the religious belief.Muslims' taboo already has been the trigger of culture conflicts,which is a specific cultural phenomenon in certain areas under the background of an imperfect construction of intercultural communication cognitive system.The problem of culture conflicts caused by Muslims' taboo has already attracted the attention of the public opinion,the communication study and some related departments of the government,which has been an imperative issue in intercultural communication study.Under the vision of intercultural communication and the guidance of taboo theory,this study aims to discuss the social support and coping style of Muslims in taboo based on both of the quantitative research methods and the qualitative research methods.Owing to the limitation of the objective condition,this study choose the Muslims in Mosque of Hebei Baoding as the object to do the quantitative analysis and qualitative research.There are some related hypothesis as follow.Firstly,Muslims' social support in taboo has many significant differences in the factors of demographic.Secondly,Muslims' coping style in taboo has many significant differences in the factors of demographic.Thirdly,Muslims' social support and coping style in taboo are positively correlated.The Scale of Muslims' Social Support in Taboo and The Scale of Muslims' Coping Style were designed according to the related results and the trait of the object.There are some related results as follow.Firstly,gender,age and time of Islam belief are related to Muslims' social support in taboo.Secondly,gender,age,time of Islam belief and education level are related to Muslims' coping style in taboo.Thirdly,social support and coping style are positively correlated.This study can be divided into three main parts,including design and implementation,results and analysis,conclusion and suggestion.In the first part,the course of confirming the object,advancing the hypothesis,choosing the tool and collecting the samples are described.In the second part,the results are analyzed.In the third part,the conclusion and suggestion are proposed based on the results.This study suggests that Muslim culture communication could be furthered,the Muslim culture think-tank could be established,the communication infrastructure under the opinion of Big Communication could be improved and the related news regulations could be polished,in order to avert the culture conflicts caused by Muslims' taboo.
