The dual polarization phased array antenna not only has the advantages of phased array antenna,but also can emit two orthogonal electromagnetic waves which do not interfere with each other,increases the information of the antenna and broadens its application range.Tightly coupled ultra wideband array antenna technology is a new broadband wide angle phased array antenna design in the field of ultra wideband antenna research in recent years.In this paper,the research work of ultra wideband tightly coupled array antenna is presented:??Based on the analysis and comparison of three kinds of tightly coupled cell structures,a compact coupling antenna unit is designed to meet the requirements of ultra wideband;The feed balun is designed to match the tightly coupled antenna element.A dual polarized compact coupled array antenna with ultra wide bandwidth and wide angle scanning is presented;??In this paper,the metamaterial surface is applied to the dual polarization coupled array antenna.It can be used to replace the wide angle matching layer,widen the scan angle range of the dual polarized compact coupled array antenna and reduce the whole antenna profile;??Taking into account the real final processing,an ultra wideband balun is proposed,and it is matched with the tightly coupled antenna element.Finally a dual polarization ultra wideband tightly coupled array is obtained;??The common mode resonance in the working frequency band is analyzed and solved,which broadens the bandwidth of the dual polarization compact coupled array antenna and improves the overall performance of the array antenna.According to the simulation model of the physical processing of the antenna array,and tested in an anechoic chamber.
