The Role Of Museum Management In The Protection Of Intangible Cultural Heritage

Globalization is an important trend in the development of the world today.More and more people have noticed that globalization poses a threat to the protection of traditional culture in many areas.As a representative of excellent traditional culture,intangible cultural heritage begin to be concerned by various countries and nations.Many organizations and individuals are involved in the protection of intangible cultural heritage.Public museums are institutions where the government provides public goods,and intangible cultural heritages have the attributes of public goods.On the other hand,Museum is an important cultural institution,and can play a role in conservation,research and communication.Therefore,museum can play an important role in the protection of intangible cultural heritage,but there are still many limitations,such as the concept of cultural relics collection is backward,research methods are single,exhibitions are too old-fashioned,and so on.This paper makes "The Red Dowry"(which is an important marriage custom in eastern Zhejiang Province)as an example,and analyzes existing practices,points out that the current problems are due to the lack of attention to intangible cultural heritage in museum management.In this paper,I put forward the following point of view:The museum should make a comprehensive plan for the protection of the intangible cultural heritage,including collection resources,set up departments related to intangible cultural heritage,pay attention to employee training and talent introduction.Combining macroscopic view of management with microcosmic view of routine work,it will enable museums to maximize their role in the protection of intangible cultural heritage.
