The principal types of the high-grade highways in our country are asphalt pavement.Aggregate that as one of the most important materials during asphalt concrete mixing process has great influence on the quality and application of bituminous pavement.Therefore,the analysis of aggregate gradation data has practical significance to the development and construction of highway.The particle size of aggregate morphological characteristics is used in this paper to research.An Android application software about aggregate particle size is designed to acquisition and process aggregate images and collect parameters of particle size,e.g.,particle size,particle area,boundary,bounding rectangle,circumscribed ellipse and equivalent rectangular.Selecting related parameters from particle size characteristics analyzes the data distribution of aggregate particle size which is shown in particle size distribution curves.The interference problem is solved in the process of particle images collecting.The acquisition device with LED back light and cover is designed to retrain interference of aggregate particle shadow on post-processing images in different of the light.This device can improve the accuracy of images detection and decrease complexity of image processing for aggregate characteristics analysis.The method of Open CV process images in Android platform is researched in this paper.The paper gives the configuration process of development environment for Android application software and the configuration process of Open CV in Android platform.The images processing and analysis have been done by C++ code,it's compiled with the NDK.The paper gives main modules' design which includes user registration and login,images acquisition,images preprocess,analysis of particle size and data management.Data of particle size is saved locally as Excel file,which can be further researched in the phone and PC.Aggregate particle size is detected by Android image processing techniques.Characteristics of aggregate particle size is obtained at meanwhile particle size distribution curve is given.The source of error between experimental data and real data is analyzed according to features of two-dimensional image features.
