WSNs(Wireless Sensor Networks) is a special kind of distributed network which is composed of a large number of sensor nodes deployed in the monitoring area.It forms an ad-hoc network by wireless communication technology and provides a new way to get information.Sensor nodes monitor the environment and get the information back to the relevant platform.Due to its unique characteristics,it has a broad application prospects.In WSNs,data collection is the premise of all operations and processing,but the problem of energy consumption is a key factor to limit the data collection.This is due to the battery energy of the sensor nodes is relatively limited,and once node is deployed,it is not practical to replace the battery.The traditional static network is very easy to cause the problem of unbalanced energy consumption of nodes,which makes the network premature death.To solve this problem,this thesis proposes a virtual region based data gathering method with mobile Sink(VRDG for short)and a type of low-latency data gathering method with multi-Sink(LDGM)respectively to balance the network energy consumption and ensure the real-time performance of data collection.Firstly,the network is divided into several regions and the leader of each region is selected out.And only the leaders in each region need to communicate with the mobile Sinks which effectively reduced energy consumption and the end-to-end delay.Secondly,the trajectory of mobile Sink is established based on leaders.Thirdly,the optimized paths for data uploading is established in each data gathering unit which further balance energy consumption of the whole network.Moreover,with the help of the sleep scheduling and the sensing radius adjustment strategies,redundancy on network coverage and energy consumption could be also effectively reduced.It reduces the stay-time of Sinks and ensures the real-time performance.VRDG is energy-efficient in comparing with MSE,SEP and LEACH.On the other hand,by comparing with MST and MWST,LDGM has a higher energy utilization,and it also performs well on the real-time of data collection.
