With the rapid development of information communication technology(ICT)as well as its industry, telecommunication networks have caused serious problems such as high energy consumption due to the network scale getting larger and larger. The increasing electricity demand enhance the operating cost of the telecommunication networks. At the same time,a large amount of greenhouse gases produced by running telecommunication networks impact on global climate change. The energy consumption problem has become one of the core issues of the ICT industry.People start to pay attention to the energy consumption problem of telecommunication networks when they enjoy the life convenience due to ICT.As a result, the thesis focuses on the energysaving schemes of cellular telecommunication networks. The main contents are as follows:1)An energy-saving scheme based on the optimization of business data allocation is studied. It's a problem that the backstage business of cellular networks costs too much energy.According to the channel condition of each sub-carrier,an energy-saving data allocation method is designed for single-user and single-service scenario,to achieve energy saving in cellular system.2)An user offloading scheme of inter-cellular is studied.Base station equipments which on low traffic load or idle state could turn into sleep mode to save energy. To solve the coverage problem in sleeping cell,a user offloading algorithm is proposed, which the users in the sleeping cell could transfer to adjacent active cells under the promise of guaranteeing the quality of service to realize energy saving..3)A dynamic sleep strategy of base station under dense cellular networks is studied. In order to meet the large amount of traffic requirements, the base stations are often densely distributed. For the purpose of decreasing the number of active base stations,a selecting strategy is proposed. As many base stations as possible could be off with relatively low utility value from a large number of base stations. The users in those cells could access surrounding active base stations to maintain normal service, thereby achieving energy conservation over the whole communication networks.
