Research On The Application Of Collaborative Filtering Technology In University Course Recommendation System

At present,the application of informatization course selection system in colleges becomes very common;almost all colleges and universities have adopted the educational administration network management information system to provide students with a variety of services.Students use the course selection system to choose their own courses of interest from a variety of elective courses to own their credits.Although the vast majority of college course selection system can provide students with the basic functions of course selection,the degree of intelligence of the elective system is not enough owing to a lack of function of course recommendation.Since a large number of students do not know much about their specialty and never consider the correlations of courses to it they are blind in the selection of courses,which leads to the result that the courses they have selected are not helpful to their professional development as well as their academic planning.Therefore colleges have an urgent need of more intelligent course selection system with intelligent course recommendation to help solve the problems of students' blindness in the course selection and provide facility,orientation and more convenient services for the students.In this research,the collaborative filtering technology is integrated into the college course selection system.In accordance with the correlation between the courses,the correlation between the students and the students' grades of courses,the score matrix is constructed,and a predictive scoring matrix is generated according to the collaborative filtering algorithm then a list of recommended courses will be produced in the intelligent course selection system,from which students will select the courses to their interest.These recommended courses are more profession-oriented,purposeful in the whole learning system,and more conducive for students to expand their knowledge and improve their professional knowledge system.The experimental results show that,on the basis of the traditional collaborative filtering recommendation technology,the improved user collaborative filtering algorithm based on the project and the user at the same time has higher recommendation accuracy.The application of the improved Collaborative filtering technology in college courses recommendation facilitates students to select courses intelligently,and the recommended courses are more accurate and rational in their specialty knowledge system.Thus the research has great practical and realistic significance.
