Simulation of natural phenomena has always been one of the most important research fields in the field of virtual reality,and it is also an important research topic in computer graphics.Smoke simulation plays an important role in large-scale battlefield,fire safety assessment,film and television effects,especially in large-scale battlefield simulation,smoke fidelity and real-time is particularly important.In this paper,the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation is used as the basic physical model for smoke simulation,which can theoretically ensure the authenticity of smoke simulation.Based on the Navier-Stokes equation,the smoke simulation model is derived and the numerical solution of the model is obtained by the advection algorithm and the projection algorithm.Then,the numerical solution is transformed into volume data,and the volume rendering algorithm is combined with OpenGL texture technology to simulate the smoke.Finally,five typical experiments of smoke simulation are given and the results are analyzed.In this paper,a method of texture mapping based on OpenGL is presented to solve the problem of slow rendering and poor real-time performance of smoke rendering by using volume rendering algorithm.In addition,when the smoke simulation with obstacles,given the boundary conditions of the calculation method.Through the analysis of smoke simulation results,we can see that the smoke simulation method in this paper can simulate smoke effectively and improve the fidelity and real time of smoke simulation greatly.
