In the radio over fiber (RoF) system, the data change of mobile users takes place in the optical and wireless domains. Traditional wireless protocol cannot meet the requirements of dynamic management of RoF system resources. In recent years, the Medium-Transparent Medium Access Control (MT-MAC) protocol is proposed to manage the RoF system resources dynamically. As a security mechanism, Quality of Service (QoS) can provide reliable transmission services for real-time services, and ensure real-time services not affected by delay or discards, thus ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the network. Therefore, the combination of QoS scheduling mechanism and MT-MAC protocol can play important roles in improving the dynamic management of RoF system resources.Firstly, this paper introduces the working principle of MT-MAC protocol applied to millimeter-wave RoF system, and combines QoS mechanism and MT-MAC protocol to design the MT-MAC protocol based on QoS. In this paper, we design and optimize the packet structure of Resource Requesting Frame (RRF) and Data Frame (DF) in MT-MAC protocol, and add the user request table in the RoF system to save the user request information and achieve reasonable QoS based RoF system user resource scheduling. Therefore, the RoF system can provide differentiated services according to the service type of users and improve the whole network performance of the system.Secondly, this paper studies the operating mechanism of the dynamic frame-length allocation algorithm and the algorithm of WDFA based on QoS, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the two algorithms. A hybrid algorithm combined with the advantages of DFA algorithm and WDFA algorithm is proposed to reduce the waste of data frame length and improve the fairness of resource allocation among users while ensuring the service quality of high priority users. Finally, this paper use network simulation software to carry on the simulation verification to three kinds of algorithms. Simulation results show that compared with the WDFA algorithm, the hybrid algorithm has better performance in delay and delay jitter of low-priority users in the case of low-delay and low-delay jitter of high-priority users. In the aspect of packet loss ratio, when the network load reaches 1,the packet loss rate of the low-priority user of the hybrid algorithm decreases by 11%compared with the packet loss rate of the WDFA algorithm. The research of this paper has guiding significance to improve the service quality and network performance of RoF system users. Which provides a new idea for the application of QoS mechanism in multi-service resource scheduling of RoF system.
