A Research On The Related Discipline Of Academic Documents Based On Hierarchical Topic Model

With the development of science and technology, subjects' development shown one trend that subject connected with each other,and no-one subject could independent of other subjects.This interdisciplinary connection promotes the development of the internal discipline?interdisciplinary and the whole subject system.It is of great practical significance for the development of disciplines to study the relationship between subjects and disciplines.Disciplinary association refers to the relationship between subjects and disciplines,which can influence the development of each other.In the past, the research on the discipline association is often based on the "subject",which is the most coarse granularity in science.Based on the "literature", this paper attempts to study the potential subject relevance of an academic document by using the Hierarchical topic model.This paper mainly do the following several parts of work:First of all, this paper presents a method for analyzing the discipline associations of one academic documents,and this method based on hierarchical Topic model.Aiming at the academic documents, this paper constructs the theory model of the academic document subject relevance by using the hierarchical Topic model, and finds out the potential related disciplines of this academic documents.Secondly, on the basis of the construction of the model, through the method of experiment, we select an academic document to carry out the hierarchical Topic and discovery the potential related subject .Through the literature cited subject classification analysis(which is existing in the web of science) to establish the standard set of related disciplines, combined with related disciplines through the Title?Abstract?Key words method, to evaluate the effect of academic documents' disciplines relevance based on Topic model effect.Experimental results show that, through the hierarchical Topic model method, you can dig out an academic document's potential related disciplines; and compared with the title?abstract?keyword method, based on the related academic disciplines document Topic model can find more related disciplines.Finally, the research work is summarized and the future research is prospected.
