As the requirement of HD video,3D online games and high fidelity voice business which need high bandwidth is growing for customers in recent years,what's more,5G technology standards will be released about 2020.The consumer side's rate of 5G Long Term Evolution will reach Gbps magnitude according to reliable information,it is 100 times more than 4G beyond.So much access rate causes a little panic to current access network.TWDM PON not only retains the flexibility and capacity sharing of TDM,but excavates WDM technology of increasing optical access network capacity upper limit,improving the utilization efficiency of optical fiber.Therefore,TWDM PON turns into one of the architecture implementation scheme of the next generation access network.This paper based on State Key Laboratory of Information Photonics and Optical Communications,BUPT.Studying the optical access network structure and working mechanism of Peer-to-Peer(P2P)communication of ONU,and energy-saving design problems among ONUs.The main work and innovation points of this paper are as follows:Firstly,this paper analysis the necessity and research present situation about P2P communication in PON.Comparatively analysis the characteristic of existing three EPON structures that support master-slave communication and P2P communication.Secondly,this paper puts forward a new access network structure which can support P2P communication and wavelength resource allocation flexibly.This structure designs a intelligent remote node which consists of WSS,Controller and Coupler.Modularizing ONU according to its function,configurates power management monitoring the current network state real-time.Intelligently control close and open of the corresponding module to avoid some unnecessary power consumption.Thirdly,we design new bandwidth adjustable loopback TWDM structure of PON.Implement the specific circuit of power module and clock module.Experiment results successfully verified the structure not only supports master-slave communication but also better for P2P communication.
