Communication tower is a kind of high-rise structure and it is used to support the signal transmission. As a kind of supporting equipment of communication antenna, communication tower is regarded as an important part in the normal operation of communication. The normal communication is affected by the stability of communication tower.Because of the complexity of communication tower structure system,operating environment and natural disasters, the possibility of its failure and damages have greatly increased. It is essential to study the reliability related problems of communication tower.The communication tower has been taken as the research object in this paper. The load and resistance of the communication tower are studied, and the weak link of the communication tower is found out through theoretical analysis. The reliability index is derived by using the model, and then the failure probability is calculated. The results can provide some guidance for future maintenance and design.In addition, an evaluation model for the real-time performance of the communication tower has been established. It is proved that the model has certain reference for the results of the simulation data is consistent with the actual results. This method makes up for the defects of the reliability analysis method which can not consider the impact of sudden disaster. Based on the calculated model's results, gray algorithm has been used to do prediction of communication tower. The prediction results are consistent with the actual situation, which shows that the method is feasible in the state prediction of the communication tower, and can provide some reference for the prediction of the state of the communication tower and the correction of the error point.Finally, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method has been used to do risk assessment of communication tower. Through the establishment of the risk factors of communication tower, using AHP to get the factor weight, the risk level of each factor is obtained, combined with the maximum membership degree method and weighted average method to get the final level of risk of communication tower. In the process of determining the risk factors, some subjective factors are exist. Because this paper is focused on the theory and method,the data is not unique and we need to do analyze combined with the actual situation in the future.
