As the fourth generation of visible light source, LED has been widely applied to various fields, such as indoor illumination, automobile industry, LED panel, traffic lights and so on. As we all know that LED has a long service life and ultra-low power consumption, in addition LED has a small dimension and is an environmentally friendly lighting source. What's more, information can be carried by the LED emitted light. All these characteristics make the visible light communication to be a promising technology among many types of short-range wireless communication technologies.Based on the National Natural Science Fund, this paper takes a further study of the signal processing technology in high speed visible light communication system, Two LED-based high speed visible light communication system prototypes were successfully designed and implemented. The main work and innovation points of this paper are list below:Firstly, this paper expounded the work principle of visible light communication and the Light-emitting principle of white LED, we also explained the importance of the RGB-LED based visible light communication system.Secondly, this paper designed and implemented a FPGA based back to back communication system. We implemented two different synchronous over-sampling technology in the back to back system.Thirdly, this paper designed and implemented a FPGA based visible light communication system and we finished the test for the system.Lastly, this paper implemented a white light visible light communication system, the bit rate of the system is 504Mbps and the error rate is 4.1 × 10-3 at the distance of 2m.
