Xi'an Evening News "Culture Week" Research

Culture is a concept of broad meanings and the most humanistic color,hence it is probably extremely difficult to give it a precise definition.With the constant development of economy and society,the ways of communications of culture have gone through tremendous changes.People are used to receive messages with internet and mobile terminals,and traditional culture is under impact with the coming of the age of big data.Therefore,the fall of newspapers is already an indisputable fact.But Culture Weekly managed to make its contributions to social culture even if its own development has been shaken.As a weekly of the weekends version of Xi'an Evening News,Culture Weekly has been upholding its philosophy of cultural development,and obtained a group of loyal readers after years of constant development.Focusing on quantitative research,with Culture Weekly as the research object,content analysis and comparative analysis methods are adopted as the main research methods.The cultural attributes reflected in Culture Weekly are analyzed to understand what a role such cultural attributes played in the process of the social culture communication,the cultural cognitive construction and the regional culture identity.In the meantime,advantages and disadvantages of Culture Weekly in the development of social culture shall be confirmed,hoping to provide positive suggestions or opinions for similar newspapers and weeklies in China.This paper is constituted of five parts.The first part is the introduction which briefly describes the research background and significance,elaboration of basic concepts,research status,methodology and innovative points etc.The second part is the analysis of the content of samples.The third chapter summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of Culture Weekly by comparing it to similar newspapers weeklies.The fourth chapter gives the cultural characteristics of Culture Weekly;the fifth chapter presents the problems in Culture Weekly and cultural newspapers weeklies and the corresponding development strategies.
