With the development of virtual reality technology, construction of 3D terrain visualization is widely used in various fields. Construction of three-dimensional terrain from the past small-scale terrain construction, has evolved into a large-scale construction of dynamic terrain. Three-dimensional terrain simulation is no longer limited to static display,the current research trends on the three-dimensional terrain simulation is about the dynamic terrain deformation studies.First of all, in this paper, the 3D terrain data in related technology were research and analysis, summed up the current 3D terrain data interpolation technique because there is no combination of topographic trend characteristics, cause in accuracy is not high. Therefore, a method is proposed by combining the topographical feature to improve the accuracy of interpolation. Through the insertion point around the terrain in the trend of judgment, to improve the accuracy of data interpolation.Secondly, through the research and analysis of the 3D terrain mesh simplification method,We found that the current simplified method terrain mesh will lead to simplified terrain can not be effectively maintained the main features of the terrain, The main feature here refers to the depression effect in terrain mountain uplift effect and valley, This leads to the main characteristics of the terrain is not effectively display. To solve this problem, proposed a simplified method for the folded edge of the terrain mesh model based on vertex chaos, by introducing the vertex chaos to focus on the protection of terrain feature vertices, protect the terrain feature.Finally, research and analysis of existing terrain deformation technology, currently,analog terrain deformation is mainly carried out by physical simulation model based on crater.The main problems are the details of the terrain deformation effect simulation is lacking, not conform to reality. Therefore, we proposed a crater physical modeling method based on fluctuations in the region, by processing the regional fluctuation, to highlight the characteristics of the physical details of crustal deformation, enhance the effect of deformation simulation.
