Research On The Irrationality Of Public Opinion

The study is based on China's social transformation,in which period,politics,economy,culture and thought as parts of the whole society is changing,developing and transforming.Meanwhile,the increasing of social contradictions and social problems,has provided some social agendas to public opinion.Public opinion consists of rational voice and irrational voice.The part of irrational can't be removed totally.In stead,it's getting worse.If the irrationality of public opinion overwhelmed the rationality of public opinion,the division of different groups and different classes will becoming worse.In the same time,the waste of social cost and the damage of social order will get more serious.So,we should face the irrationality of public opinion,build the balance of rationality and irrationality of public opinion.The study focused on the irrationality of public opinion.Firstly,the theories and literature of public opinion is studied and refined,included the thoughts of Edmund Burke,Gustave Le Bon,Sigmund Freud,etc.The originality and limitation of each theory is analyzed.Based on inheriting ideologists' thinking heritage,combining observing actual cases,the study summarized five forms of the irrationality of public opinion:the extremely and radical expression,the expression of ignoring facts and arising from nothing,the joking and entertaining expression,the simplified and illogical expression,the blind and enthusiastic expression.Meanwhile,the study concluded four aspects to explain why the irrationality of public opinion takes shape:the special social environment of social transformation,group psychological mechanism as group polarization,characteristic of Internet,inappropriate guidance by news media.The study pointed out that rationality and irrationality both have being important part of public opinion,the irrationality part will not be wiped out totally.If the irrationality of public opinion boosting continuously,it will result in out-of-balance of public opinion and destroy regular social order.So,the study figured out that the build of the balance of rationality and irrationality of public opinion is the only way to make public opinion to play a positive role.The balance of rationality and irrationality of public opinion is that the system of public opinion is developing Stably,in which condition the irrationality of public opinion is on subordinate status while the rationality of public opinion is on leading status.The measures of how to build he balance of rationality and irrationality of public opinion is put forward,include to establish and complete the information release mechanism,to create the free expression space,to improve the rational consciousness,civic awareness and media literacy of the subject of public opinion,using law to protect personality privacy reputation of citizens and manage the extreme,irrational opinion.Lastly,the study return to actual case,take the public opinion of China netizen on Korea shaman adviser scandal as example,analyzed the public opinion content in this case,summarized different forms of irrational opinions in the event,used theory tool to interpret the example.
