Between The "Freedom" And "Yardstick":The Practical Dimension Of Feature

In 1980s,it has been brought the world of journalism and journalists' attention when the feature enter China.From the practice of the first Chinese feature the Last Manure Bucket in Beijing in China Youth Daily to the feature version of Southern Weekend,they all contribute to the innovation of China news style.In recent years,we have frequently heard that some feature will be adapted into film and television works,it seems to be a new vitality for the declining traditional journalism.Because of the high production investment,the long length and the slow rhythm,the feature may not become a mainstream product on the market,However,it should be worthful to pay more attentions by researchers,because it is full of the originality feeling.we should not only stay in the practical level When we study it,,and we need also focus on the feature's discourse,the structure of style and so on for the further study.In the opinion of Li Haipeng who was feature reporter,Chinese feature is defined by Southern Weekend,the feature of Southern Weekend to bear on the meanings that traditional news products can not be carried.Although the feature can only be installed in the bottle,there are many journalists trying to seek the innovation of news style under the existing framework.So,how the form of the feature by Chinese journalists searched is showing?And which factors affect the production of feature?Focusing on feature production from the micro level is the core concern of this paper.This study focus on the practice of feature by Li Haipeng who is known as best feature writer of Chinese journalism as the research object,by focusing on the craftsman who is excavating the story to study two aspects of the discourse analysis of feature and specific journalistic practice.The feature text of discourse study are 19 feature articles by Li Haipeng,these texts have been published in Southern Weekend between 2003 and 2009,and them wrote by Li Haipeng independently,finally them become the Earth Flash the Light Alone.As the text of journalistic practice is taken from Li Haipeng's message editor,reporter notes,personal subscriptions in WeChat,column reports,interviewed interviews,experience and so on.In the part of research methods,the article use the useful perspective of research from stylistics,discourse analysis and content analysis to study the practice of feature.Based on the perspective of the style,the main content of this paper can be divided into the following three parts:The first part explores the feature as structure of news.We study the presentation of Li Haipeng's feature by discourse analysis and content analysis,and learn how to tell the story by analyzing the topic,summary,plot,background and evaluation of feature.The second part explores the feature as a expression of reporters character.We can find that the feature to meet the thoughts that reporters create the news story by hidden reporter,create rhythm and prominent dramatization.But the feature must be under the supervision of editors to hide abstract expression and shield the discourse different from the existing ideology.The third part explores the feature as an object of readers who receive the information.In the micro level,to analyze the rhetoric and wording of feature.In the macro level,to analyze the theme of feature.Form the analysis we can find that Li Haipeng attracts readers' attention,win the reader's trust and promote reader's understanding by using literary modification.At the same time,he realize to reduce the proportion of modifier.In order to enhance the authenticity of the report,he use many numbers,precise time and increase the proportion of direct speech.He also strengthen the expression of theme by hiding meaning of words.And help readers understand the complex reality in context is the important significance in his feature.Based on the above three parts,we can find that the stylistic features of Li Haipeng's feature is "Beautiful,Abundant and Profound",The feature exploration is between "Freedom" and "Yardstick",and it is based on the interaction and game of professional demands,speech demands and social demands.
