Nowadays Software Defined Network(SDN)is one of the emerging research ar-eas.The traditionalTCP/IP network has promoted the quick advancement of the Inter-net.But with the ever-changing network services and the quick growth of high band-width demanding applications,TCP/IP network is working with great difficulty.SDN has the capability to handle global network information,and the programmability of SDN can present more agile and efficient network services while without changing the core network infrastructure.TCP/IP network can't meet the various requirement of Quality of service(QoS),and the shortest path routing policy will lead to local link congestion even if there exists another forwarding path in the network.SDN technol-ogy can effectively solve the problem of network congestion control while providing QoS guarantee.In the SDN,the Protocol Obvious Forwarding(POF)plays a basic role.POF is an extension of OpenFlow protocol,and the network can be more flexible by using the POF.However,the current POF controller is a simple prototype system,which lacks functions to support basic network services.The thesis aims to focus on hybrid SDN networks in a novel way.In hybrid SDN networks,the network is divided into small islands.Some of the islands are SDN islands while some are called legacy islands.The SDN switch is connected with another SDN switch through legacy island link.Nowadays in the field of networking,the path computation is all the time con-sidered as an important topic.Path computation aims to provide a proper and suitable path for the traffic flow of network.With the advancement of(SDN),path computation moves to a centralized controller rather than distributed nodes.In the thesis,the author presents a proposed algorithmusing SDN framework and data center networks making hybrid SDN networks.The proposed algorithm calculates and selects suitable paths based on characteristics of data center networks and congestion status.Additionally hybrid SDN network's supporting solution will alsobe proposed.The experimental re-sults shows the proposed algorithm performs better thanclassic shortest path algorithms.The study also verified that the proposed solution for hybrid SDN networks can support proper operations in complicated hybrid SDN networks.
