In recent years, China automobile industry keeps developing at a high speed while the market competition grows fierce by time. Many automobile manufacturers tend to adopt price competition strategy to seize the market, which forces automobile part suppliers to keep cutting price and bear huge cost pressure. This paper attempts to apply project management theories and methods in the production management system of CRRC Changzhou Auto Parts Co., Ltd. Furthermore, this paper focuses on exploring the measures to increase the success ratio of production management system construction for auto part companies, which makes contributions to the economic profit.On the basis of the project life cycle theory of modern project management, this paper combines the features of information system construction and the actual situation of CRRC Changzhou Auto Parts Co., Ltd to study the application of procedures and methods of life cycle management and project management.CRRC Changzhou Auto Parts Co., Ltd is the study object in this paper. The research first starts with identifying requirements of the company's production management system and analyzing the contents during the startup stage of the project management through the analysis and design of this system. The implementation and the overall status of the entire production management system project is described on basis of the investigation on the system and interview of implementers. Secondly, considering the features of the project, the research conducts an in-depth study on the problems during the project implementation with project management theories, makes a work breakdown on the project's scope and schedules detail project management plans and control, including the plans and control of project time, quality and risk. Finally, the research evaluates and summarizes the effects of implementation, analyzes the issues that should be noticed during the project and proposes suggestions for these issues in the case.The implementation of the production management information system project of CRRC Changzhou Auto Parts Co., Ltd has proved the positive effects on controlling a project's schedule, quality and riskby incorporatingmethodsand tools of information project management have. It will increase the possibility of project success and help the investments generate projected profits. It is also expected that these methods and measures can provide references for order project cost management of CRRC Changzhou Auto Parts Co., Ltd in the future.
