When the imaging systems which use the laser as light source are used to capture images at night, Sometimes there are obvious white faculae on the acquired images. They will cover the original information in the scene, making us fail to obtain the complete information, which will cause a great disturbance to the image acquiring. So the research on the laser faculae is particularly important. The main purpose of this paper is to eliminate the bad effect of white faculae, so that the visual images containing the complete scene information can be obtained.In this paper, three kinds of image processing methods are proposed, which are based on the characteristics of the laser polarization and image fusion technology, fully utilizing the complementary of the polarization and intensity images. They are the Research method based on the combination of parameters self-adjustment weighted fusion algorithms and IHS transformation, method of DWT based on multi resolution analysis, Research method which is based on image segmentation and illumination compensation technology. In this paper, the theory, implementation steps and simulation results of each method are discussed in detail.In addition, by comparing with other related algorithms, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm is proved.In the thesis, the simulation of the three methods and other relevant algorithms are completed correctly. The simulation results show that the although the principle and procedure of the three methods are different, but all of the fused images eliminate the effect of white faculae successfully, and the simulation results are better than that of other algorithm. Also, the scene information of the non-polarization image and the polarization images are synthesized together, obtaining more clear images containing whole information.The experimental results show that this thesis can meet the requirements and objectives of the study.
