With the rapid development of the mobile communication, the demand for transmission capability of wireless mobile communication system is increasing. The higher speed and more accurate transmission of large quantities of data is required all the time, but it is limited by the complicated channel environment. As received signals are often distorted, the performance of communication system is severely affected. In order to get better performance, adaptive transmission has become an important technology, which can adjust parameters of sending signals according to the feedback channel state information. Therefore, under such a background, this paper will study prediction algorithms of flat fading channel in mobile communication system. The main work includes the following several aspects.Firstly, the transmission characteristics and statistical characteristics of the wireless mobile channel are analyzed, based on which the flat rapid fading channel model of single-carrier transmission system is established with multipath scattering signals. Secondly, the principle of OFDM is briefly introduced, and the channel characteristics in single-carrier transmission system are extended to the multi-carrier system. Thus the flat rapid fading channel model is established under the OFDM transmission system. Then based on the theory and simulation experiments, several classic channel prediction algorithms are studied for single-carrier transmission system. And these algorithms belong to auto-regression and harmonic recovery model. Next, due to the shortcomings of the classic prediction algorithms, some improved algorithms are proposed, including affine projection algorithm, the variable step size LMS adaptive algorithm, extended Prony algorithm and FOC-ESPRIT algorithm. Finally, some of the algorithms with better performances are selected and applied to OFDM multi-carrier transmission system to achieve the prediction of the fading channel coefficients.
