With the continuous development Internet of Things technology and related industries, the state is also growing demand for the Internet of Things major. So a growing number of colleges and universities have opened up Io T major or Io T related subjects. Io T major as a cross subject include embedded system technology, electronic electrical technology, s ensor technology, computer software technology, and network communications technology. For this characteristic, it is an urgent problem in the field of Io T major teaching about how to engage work of teaching and learning scientifically and establishing an experimental teaching platform which meet the needs of current and future IoT industrial professionals.This paper based on the college experiment teaching characteristics and realistic situation of the IoT major, combined with advanced educational philosophy and teaching methods, designs and implements a specialty IoT experiment teaching platform, which aims to provide effective support and help for teachers and students.The content of this paper is:(1) Discussed the current development of China's IoT industry and Io T major status. Propose the necessity of designing and developing a teaching platform for IoT major. Describe and compare the existent teaching platform.(2) Based on the teaching theory, practical and the characteristics of IoT courses, analyze requirements of the design and development of experimental teaching platform. On this basis, introduces the Internet hardware platform, software development environments, sensor technology and other key technologies and related theoretical knowledge. Th en identified the overall design scheme of the platform after comprehensive analysis: modular design, include the main module, sensor module, RFID module, teaching modules of the program design, experimental teaching module.(3) In module units, combining the different specific needs, introduces the detailed design process and ultimately, results of each of the five modules, and supplemented by a sample description.(4) Trial the experimental teaching platform after debugging and testing. Then, a structured interview method is used to interview the different levels of the trial(teachers, students, and the experiment administrator). In order to study the gaps of follow-up, recording the interview data and interviews, analyzing them, and getting the evaluatio n of the platform.(5) Summarizing the experimental teaching platform design and development work, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses.Through this platform, we can improve the flexibility, efficiency and autonomy of teachers' teaching. On the other hand, it promotes students ' learning efficiency, increases interest in learning by combining theoretical knowledge and practical experience. It has a positive meaning for the current Io T experiment platform building work which is still in the exploratory stage.
