Content Analysis Of People's Daily's Role Played In New Pattern Of Media

Under the new situation, great changes have taken place in the pattern and environment of Chinese media. New emerging communication carriers, like computers, mobile phones, smart wearable devices and smart homes, has so strong impact on the traditional media that affecting people's production method and life style, which also making the current pattern of media showing multi-dimensional phenomenon.The article takes People's Daily paper as the research object. By analyzing the new changes in the media landscape and derive data from the sixteen issues of “People's Daily”, the author analyzes the role what “People's Daily” as in the new media pattern and how it is going. Then make feasible suggestions on it. Firstly, the article analyzes different roles of the Communist Party newspaper theoretically and explores how many basic roles, specified roles, spare roles and inappropriate roles of it. Secondly, taking data and cases to show different roles of “People's Daily” in emerging Pattern of Media acts as thought communicators, will speaker, resolution promulgator, party and government work organizer of the Party Central Committee. Then to analyze of role implementations through story genres, themes, tendency, subjects and operating conditions of Direct Speech. Finally, based on what data has discussed above, the author puts forward about how to realize their roles and take responsibility as People's Daily. For example, rich story themes and genres, adjusting reported subjects' ratio, reducing length of the article, increasing the picture reports and Direct Speech, simple words and so on.
