With the rapid development of information technology, the multicast communication has become an important topic for the Internet researches. Multicast is a relatively ideal network communication method to realize group communication. However, for IP multicast dependency on router and other inherent defects, it hasn't been promoted widely. Then Application Layer Multicast technology has emerged. With the ease of implementation and promotion, as well as the optimization for specific applications, ALM increasingly has become the main method for providing multicast services on the Internet. However, a lot of domestic and foreign relevant researches show that Application Layer Multicast still has many areas to improve. It is a hot spot to research how to constitute reasonable ALM models. In order to take advantage of netwok resources and improve the transmission efficiency of Application Layer Multicast, one hierarchical Application Layer Multicast model based on hybrid Wheel-Bus architecture, whose short name is HWB-ALM, was proposed in this thesis. By building a unique overlay network structure and mapping nodes to different layers, node's position dynamically adjusted in system according to the priority, the model establishes a sophisticated mechanism for node management and maintenance, and then builds data transmission topology based on this overlay network, providing efficient and reliable service for data transmission. The model takes different data transmission strategies according to the characteristics of application requirements. For real-time application, it adopts a data transmission algorithm based on node degree constrain and flooding. Finally, simulation results show with Myns that this model has higher data delivery ratio and bandwidth uitilization, so it has a good application prospect.
