Research On Service-oriented Common M2M Semantic Description Technology

The rapid development of M2M(Machine-to-machine) and the various devices access make device control modes of communication are also diversified. However, the heterogeneity of the machine make services and devices unable to interact with each other in various fields. To solve this problem, we proposed a general M2 M service oriented semantic description models, to ensure the universality and simplify the service discovery and the service implement process.First we analyze the state of the art M2 M service, and model service in three areas: service description, service process and service access, according to service procedure and the interaction feature of M2 M service. Service description is the basic description about service which contains capability and range of the service. Service process is a kind of modeling of service procedure. Service access describes the access methods of services.We analyze and extend the state of the art SSN design pattern and propose a universal M2 M description design pattern “Input-Output-Capability-Deployment”. And we have implemented universal resource description for devices and semantic ontology modeling of devices by using our model. Furthermore, our semantic model simplifies the method of device discovery. Meanwhile, this model links device and service are effectively.For the description model of service and the description model of device, a universal M2 M service framework is also proposed, which contains device abstract, device access, device semantic annotation based on IOCD ontology and the context ontology. Furthermore, a process of forming a service instance ontology within a certain range is also provided, by depending on service domain knowledge, device ontology, and context ontology within a certain environment range. And implement the process of service request, service decomposition, and service matching and service implementation based on this service instance ontology.In the last part, we use smart home demonstration to implement comfort service in smart home based on the above-mentioned modeling method and universal M2 M service framework. This system not only validate the usability of our service model and device model but also shows the efficiency of our method for service interaction and fast service implementation.
