The development of modern communication technology is more and more quickly, especially in wireless communicati on technology, the typical representative is the wireless sensor network technology. In wireless sensor network technology, Zigbee technology developing very fast than others and has been widely applied in People's Daily life. Because of its low power consumption, low cost, high stability and high security, Zigbee technology is more and more attention. However, with the constant promotion of Zigbee technology, some of the key problems also gradually emerges which limiting Zigbee technology continues to deve lop. One of the most important is the battery life problem for sensor node based on Zigbee technology. How to lengthen the service life of t he sensor nodes? Various solutions have been proposed, such as research and development of ultra-low power consumption Zigbee chip, using available in raw energy, by the outside world biomass into elec tricity to power a sensor node, the internal data compression algorithm is put forward, power control, dormancy management terminal equipment.This paper also gives some suggestions in how to reduce energy consumption of sensor nodes. First from the hardware selection, which illuminates the low power consumption MCU can maximums reduce the node energy consumption. And low power consumption MCU must have adjustable power su pply working mode, which must be transform each other under normal working state and dormant state. In order to meet the demand of communication, nodes also require RF transceiver functions, and sending power adjustable. Then the software design part to do the corresponding optimization that make network in complete communication tasks. At the same time, sensor node to perform other data processing operations as little as possible, in order to reduce energy consumption.In wireless sensor networks is studi ed the influence of transmission power for energy consumption in the physical of wireless sensor node, which obtained the energy consumption in AWGN channel, Rayleigh decay channel under the dynamic change of transmission signal power is less than fixed signal transmission power.Finally in this paper, the optimized configuration zstack agreement, launched the adjustable power supply working mode; then has realized the terminal node function of sleep, diplomats point into dormancy work mode in the case of no idle listening task. Through the resistor- an oscilloscope test, which observed the current consumption of terminal node in dormancy and dormancy state, and estimate the energy consumption in both conditions of the specific, the results show that the energy consumption greatly reduced in a dormant state, compared to the dormancy condition, which extended cycle by 98.56%.
