Social work profession identification is one of the most important factors in the career development of social work practitioners.Only with a strong professional identity can social work practitioners be able to confidently face the various setbacks and challenges encountered in engaging social work services,Thereby they can effectively carry out various social service activities.Existing research often treats social workers as a single, monolithic group of people. In fact,in terms of sources of practitioners, social workers are not homogeneous groups of people without any difference. At least,it can be divided into two categories:" with professional training" of persons who are educated under the "regular college education" and switch career halfway to social workers. At present, there are a large number of studies on the occupational identification of social workers, but it is undoubtedly debatable that the research on the crowd from different sources of employment is neglected. After all,not only is the population of social workers making a half-way switch to social work a huge number-occupying the overwhelming majority of the total number of social workers currently included in official statistics, and because they lack a complete social work theory training and value education,The problem of professional identity may be more serious than that of social work graduates from those who are college graduates. Therefore,it is particularly important to strengthen the study on profession identification of social workers who work as social workers in the transitional process.Taking Haining City in Zhejiang Province as an example, this study examines more than a dozen switch career halfway to social workers in the city through in-depth interviews and other means based on the analysis concepts of Wenger's constructivist identity theory Entry social worker status of professional identity and influencing factors.Through the study,we found that although there are some differences in profession identification among these social workers who are switch career halfway,on the whole,Two-thirds of switch career halfway to social workers have a higher vocational recognition of the profession,Professional identity achievement and professional identity closed. This study argues that their professional identity is the result of mutual consultation among practicing communities(institutions, supervisory training, clients, families)and practitioners(personal background).Based on the above research results, this paper argues that in order to enhance the profession identification of switch career halfway to social workers,we should work together with various forces and by promote professionalization, socialization, value system reconstruction and social work organization self-construction to achieve this crowd's support.
