Educational fairness as an important dimension to measure social equity has always been a hot issue of society.In recent years,promoting the development of educational fairness has become a national basic education policy,which makes educational fairness also become the focus of Educational Research.The purpose of this study is not only to reveal the past and present research status of the literature research which is related to the basic education fairness,but also to make a brief exposition to the current Research Frontiers of basic education.Therefore,the main research of this study includes the basic profile of the literature research,the knowledge base,the research hotspot and the Research Frontiers,in which the research hotspot and the Research Frontiers are more important and they are the emphasis of this study as well.In order to solve the problems above,the statistical method,literature research,information visualization research method and content analysis are applied as the main study methods of this paper.The daring attempt of this paper which is both its innovation and difficulty is the comprehensive application of information visualization research and content analysis method---combing the content analysis of basic educational fairness with the visualization analysis of educational equity to make up their own deficiency and starting to do literature research of basic educational fairness by the study method---the combination of qualitative and quantitative,macro and micro research.The main content of this study can be divided into two parts.The first part is taking advantage of the visualization analysis to give a holistic analysis to the literature of educational fairness.The second part is analyzing the literature of basic educational fairness by content analysis method.The two parts constitute a whole and part relationship,and the results of the visualization analysis of educational fairness are regarded as the scope and framework of basic educational fairness content analysis,that is,discussing the latter's research progress on the basis of the results of the former.This study draws following conclusions: First of all,in terms of research overview,the number of literatures on education equity and basic education fairness is numerous and increasing year by year.However,the literature of high quality journals is not rich enough and lacks law perspective.Meanwhile,the literature of pre-school education and quantitative research are lacking.Yang Dongping and Yuan Zhenguo are the representatives of basic educational fairness research.In the knowledge base,the literatures like “The Ideals and Reality of Educational fairness in China","The Principle and Policy Meaning of Education Fairness "are beneficial to develop basic educational equity theory research.In the aspect of research hotspots,the research hot spots of basic education fairness is mainly focused on the theory of educational equity and the connotation of education,the fairness research of schools at all levels,the social structure and education fairness,the education fairness in the view of harmonious society and the fairness in foreign education.And the research hotspot can be divided into three stages.The current Research Frontier of basic education fairness mainly includes these themes---the institutionalization of basic education equity,pre-school and special children education fairness and breaking the dualistic structure to promote the integration of urban and rural education.Looking forward to the future of basic educational fairness,we should focus on establishing a whole consciousness,co-ordinate study of educational equity,strengthen the research on educational fairness and pay attention to the normative construction of the research,continuing to deepen the theoretical construction while emphasizing the importance of practical research,furthermore,changing research perspective and research methods to promote its innovation.In addition,there are some shortcomings in this study,such as the retrieval and screening of the sample literature is not comprehensive and accurate,and lacking in-depth analysis to the content of basic educational fairness research.
