With the overall implementation of the quality-oriented education, the educati onal thought of awakening students' subject consciousness is soaking slowly into t he present primary education. The role of teachers and students in the classroom i s having a subtle shift: the center of class shifts to students, teachers focus on th e various thinking abilities and comprehensive quality of students.From junior high school,students start to learn English systematic. There is n o authentic environment of communication in our country;English classservesas a place where communication is conducted between students. Asking questions comb ines classroom participation of the quality-oriented education with the cultivation o f students' communicative ability is an important way of teacher-student interactio n. However,there is such a phenomenon in the real English class: some students dislike being asked questions; Some students who like questions are not willing to answer questions, the sense of participation and initiative in class is not strong.There are many reasons for this phenomenon: under the examination-oriented educ ation system, students have been accustomed to the indoctrination education model;The influence of teacher-student relationship; The influence of students' psycholo gy and personality; Unpleasant classroom questioning experience and so on.Studies on teacher questions at home and abroad focus on the description of the importance, the present situation and shortcomings of classroom questioning, t hen, give some advise and strategies on classroom questioning; The studies on the influence factors of students' attitude towards classroom questioning focus on tea chers' professional level, the knowledge of educational theory, the relationship bet ween students and teacher, students' psychology and knowledge reserve, the resear ch is not comprehensive and thorough, there are many reasons for further investig ation.Based on former investigation, this study is on 188 students and 18 English teachers from Lantai junior high school of Zhongxiang city of Hubei Province. Th rough questionnaires and interviews, combine students' attitude towards classroom questioning with classroom questioning behavior, investigate students' attitude towa rd classroom questioning; Discuss whether there are differences between the actual classroom questioning behavior and the ideal classroom questioning behavior; Wh ether the differences have influences on the attitude of students towards classroom questioning behavior; How do the differences affect students' attitude towards cla ssroom question; The causes of differences; The advice and suggestions to questio ning behavior of teacher.Through the survey date and the interviews, the results of study show that:(l)From the grades, teacher-student relationship, interests of English, English score,we can see the phenomenon that students dislike classroom questioning and are n ot willing to answer questions indeed exists;(2)There are some differences(negative differences) between the actual classroom questioning behavior and the ideal clas sroom questioning behavior: with the increase of grade, the alienation of teacher-st udent relationship, the decrease of interest and grade in English, students' attitude towards classroom questioning becomes more and more negative;(3)The difference s affect students' attitude towards classroom question, especially on the feedback t o students' answer, the greater the differences, the more negative the attitude;.(4)T he causes of differences are various. On the one hand, physical and mental factor s of teacher, just as body illness and bad mood; On the other hand, external pres sure and uncontrollable factors during the teaching process, just as exams, vocatio ns, sports meeting and military training;(5)In English class, teacher should respect students' demands and to go into students' mind,distribute the type and degree of difficulty of questions reasonably, extend the waiting time properly; Use the call answering and feedback which are well received and positive flexibly.
