Europe,the birthplace of modern football,enjoys a very far reaching history of football and also plays an extremely significant role in the field of soccer currently.Almost every reform of football tactics origins from Europe,such as WM formation,Dutch national team's all offense-all defense tactics,and the recent Tiki-taka tactics.Besides The World Cup,European Championship has the greatest impact on global scale,and enjoys the highest level of technical and tactics.Because there is a 2 years gap between the World cup and European Championship,European Championship has the ability to demonstrate the most current football tactics and reflect the developing direction of men's football.As the first UEFA European Championship after reform,the number of participating teams is enlarged from 16 to 24 while the intensity of competition does not descend.What's more,the top four teams have their own unique offense characteristics in the aspects of positional attack,defensive counterattack,and place kick.In present work,the research direction is concentrated on analyzing the offense characteristic of top four teams through their 23 games in the 15 th European Championship,based on the methods of using document literature,observing video records,statistic,and logic analysis.Meanwhile,comparing these characteristics with the top 4 teams of Asian cup which was held in 2015,in order to find out difference,then drawing conclusions and give recommendations for the further development of China football.Conclusions are listed below:(1)The average goal number in the last three European tournaments decreases gradually,there is reasonable to believe that with the development of football,goals will become more difficult.(2)The overall strength of the 24 teams,involved in the 15 th European tournament,are relatively close.In the top four teams,Portugal,France,and Germany are apparently better due to the number of attacking into 3 zone and shooting are significantly more than other teams.Moreover,attacking into 35 meter zone provides the condition for shooting,which cannot guarantee the success of shooting.Additionally,there are strong relationships between ball control rate,number of passing,and positional attack.(3)Positional attack,which is still the most significant scoring method,demonstrates the overall strength and controllability of a team.This kind of attack is initiated mainly from the backcourt steals the ball.Besides,crossing from the side and short pass are the most significant organization method.When entering the 2 zone to shoot by the method ofpositional attack,the possibility of goal becomes maximum.Also,it is much more threaten to shoot inside the forbidden.(4)Fast attacking contributes to the number of goal much more than other method.It is usually origins from stealing in the front court.Short passing forward is the mainly way to promote,mainly from attacking in the front court or the long pass from back court directly.In the method of fast attacking,2 zone is the best place to goal.(5)In this tournament,place kick is also an important mean to score for the top teams.Except Welsh,the other 3 teams are more inclined to tactical cooperation instead of shooting directly,because the majority of Welsh's place kick are in the field of middle court.If the place kicks are not shooting directly,they always pass to the zone 3.The corner kick of the top four teams are more likely to be long pass to the middle or back point area.What's more,the back point area leads to more goals.(6)In the 15 th European cup,Portugal and French are similar to each other in the aspects of the offense ratio,control rate,the number of entering 2 zone,effective attack and shooting number.Also,both of them has a excellent balance between positional attack and fast attack.However,the team of German is too much emphasize on positional attack while Welsh is only concentrated on fast attack.(7)European teams' total pass number and pass success rate are obviously better than Asian teams,which means the overall strength of European teams is much better than that of Asian teams.In addition,after careful analysis,it could be found that the control rate of the ball can not directly determine the number of goals in the game and the outcome of the game.In this European tournament,many teams had a great performant even they did not have a high ball control rate.
