"Local resources" refers to the natural landscape,cultural relics,folk art,specialty food,historical changes,celebrity anecdotes,language and characters in one's hometown or permanent residence.The history course in the middle school is a significant part of improving the national quality.The effective use of the local resources in the middle school history curriculum as the teaching material or the evidence can stimulates the educatees' learning enthusiasm and cultivates their cultural identity and passion and then achieves the original intention of quality education.Located in north central part of Shanxi Province,Xinzhou City borders Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,Shanxi Province,and Shijiazhuang City.Xinzhou,called "Xiurong" in the past,owns the title of “the vital place in the north of Shanxi Province”.The permanent residents in Xinzhou City has reached more than 3 million in the year of2013.Xinzhou is rich in natural and human resources.Tourism resources mainly include Wutai Mountain,Luya Mountain,Yuwang Cave,Wannian Ice Cave,Yanmen Pass and so on.Human resources focus on opera,folk songs,customs and so on.The rich natural and human resources in Xinzhou region provide various teaching materials for the history courses in middle school.It is a question worthy of in-depth discussion about how to appropriately,naturally and accurately integrate local resources into the history teaching in middle school.In the study of this subject,the author takes the local resources of Xinzhou as an example,and discusses the positive role that local resources plays on history in middle school and how to use the local resources to implement history teaching.This thesis is divided into four parts.The first part of chapter 1 mainly explains the basic concept of the curriculum about local resources,demonstrates the necessity of developing and using the local resources curriculum,and the basic principles that need to be properly observed during the process of the course development.As the focus of the thesis,the second part comprehensively classified local resources into three categories: historical figures,historical relics,and culture and art.It facilitates the teaching of local history.The third part is the core of this thesis,and the author explores how to make a better use of local resources to the history teaching in senior high on the basis of theintegration of local resources and the authors' teaching practice.The fourth part mainly analyzes the problems existing in the application of the local curriculum resources in the history teaching and the corresponding suggestions.
