Dai Zhen occupies a place in the history of Chinese society and ideology as a famous ideologist, philosopher, linguistician and natural scientist in 18 th century of Qing dynasty. Dai opposes the view of society and the ethics of neo-confucianism, who builds the social ideal that have the significance of enlightenment himself. These views have very important significance to the research of the history of Chinese society and ideology which have certain sociological value at the same time. In this paper, we mainly study the sociological thoughts of Dai Zhen. The author analyzes Dai's ideas by analyzing relevant data of social ideology through the way of researching the literature. The paper mainly discusses the social order, social functioning and the social governance of Dai Zhen.The first chapter of the paper is the introduction. The second chapter mainly introduces the background of the formation of Dai Zhen's thought.Dai's thought originated from Chinese traditional philosophical thought and the mid-late Ming dynasty's early enlightenment as well as the practical academic trend in Ming and Qing dynasty. Dai was born in 18 thcentury in Huizhou district of Qing dynasty.The time, the place and the personal experience have made very deeply impact on his thought. The third chapter analyzes the content of Dai Zhen's social thought. The first quarter explores it from the social order side through analyzing “sense”and“reality”from Dai 's thought and explains that Dai Zhen uses“sense”to represent social common action's concept of order. The second quarter discusses Dai Zhen's social functioning thought. Starting with the perspective of the theory of human nature, it further explains the relation between “extrinsic attribute” and the theory itself. It analyzes Dai Zhen's thought on social individuals' mechanism which is from individualism to the affect that individuals made during social functioning. The third quarter focuses on analyzing Dai Zhen's social governance on “understanding national conditions, satisfying people's desire”, discussing the practical value of “sense” which is as the theory of social governance tool and analyzing the meaning and thesignificance of “people's desire and national conditions” so as to explain Dai Zhen's idea on how to comply with people's needs in order to let the society come to be a perfect ideal world. Afterwards, it analyzes Dai Zhen's perspective on opening people's wisdom to explain the relation between knowledge and morality and the importance of studying and at the same time to analyze the social meaning of developing civil wisdom. The forth chapter of the paper explores Dai Zhen's thought's practical value. It mainly discusses the significance of contemporary social order out of his thought of “sense” and Dai Zhen values learning makes what influence on contemporary education, what's more, it mentions his thought of "value-neutrality ” that has made what effect on methodology of sociology and other aspects.Dai Zhen's ideas are very unique in ancient China. Studying his doctrine of ethics and desire from the perspective of sociology, we could find that he attaches great importance to the morality and education for society especially pays attention to the development of the individual.Dai's ideas have the vital practical significance in improving the socialistic moral system in the case of advocating the socialistic core values and governing the society which is leaded by the people oriented values and moral strengthening.
