Research On The Quality Of Family Mediators In Social Work

Family harmony is the foundation of social stability.After the simplification of divorce procedure,the mediation function is also weakened such as the original ?family mediation?,?people's mediation? and ?unit mediation?,to a certain extent.The weakening of the original network mediation function,to a certain extent,makes the marriage and family disputes lack of ?reconciliation agent?.Therefore,it is urgent to set up a professional family mediation system in China.Family mediation has special characteristics,and the specialty of family mediator plays an important role in family mediation system.Family mediation is not only a legal issue,but also a social problem.For this reason,the quality of social work is particularly important.By using the method of literature,questionnaire survey and case observation,this paper analyzes the social work quality of family mediators,and the research conclusions are: i)The quality of social work is the essential quality of family mediators.In theory,due to the differences between family mediation and other mediation,empowerment should be always run through the mediation process,so family mediators need to have the quality of social work.In practice,the model of family mediation in Hunan is full of the introduction of social organizations and the promotion of social work skills.It also shows that the quality of social work is the essential quality of family mediators and it is consistent with the realistic policy.ii)The family mediator?s quality of social work includes four aspects: ethics,ability,skill and knowledge.In theory,on the basis of the theory of the third party,the mediation role and quality of different mediators are analyzed;it concludes that the core quality of the mediator includes ethics,ability,skill and knowledge.In practice,in accordance with existing laws and regulations,and the quality requirements of social work for family mediators in Hunan service model,four levels are summarized: social work ethics,social work ability,social work skills and social work knowledge and experience,And the four levels of indicators are refined.iii)The quality of social work is the key factor of family mediation.By adopting the method of case study,this paper analyzes the quality of social work in three typical cases.It can be concluded that the method of professional social work is the necessary condition to improve the effectiveness of the family and the quality of social work is the essential of the success of family mediation.iv)The key factors in the quality of social work are protecting privacy,neutrality and stroking emotion.Through the use of multi level analysis method to extract the indicators,the conclusion shows: first,the model is tested by consistency,which indicates that the existing index design is scientific;second,social work ethics is the most important factor in the quality of social work.In order to further improve the quality of family mediators,according to the research results of the social work quality of family mediators,this study puts forward the suggestions on promoting the standardization of the quality of family mediators,paying attention to family mediators? social work ethics construction,strengthening the social skills and skills of family mediators,and strengthening the departmental coordination of family mediation.
