This is a report on the English-Chinese translation,which focused on the latter part of Chapter 10 and the whole Chapter 11 of Virginia Woolf's Bloomsbury,Volume 1: Aesthetic Theory and Literary Practice.In the book,Chapter 10 mainly introduces the relationship between Woolf's writings and ecology.And Chapter 11 gives an overall comparison between Virginia Woolf's Bloomsbury and Harlem Renaissance in the early 20 th century.At first,the language features in vocabulary,phrases and syntax are analyzed and concluded,and then corresponding translation strategies are offered in the form of case study according to different language features.Hopefully,this study is helpful to translate similar literary criticism texts in the future.This report consists of 5 chapters.Chapter 1 is devoted to task description,introducing this translation task and its meanings.Chapter 2 deals with the process of the task,which includes preparation,translating process and proofreading.In Chapter 3,the language features in vocabulary,phrases and syntax of the excerpts are concluded and at the same time,relevant translation difficulties are demonstrated as well.Chapter 4 is a case study,analyzing the language features and translation difficulties discussed in Chapter 3,and gives corresponding translation methods and strategies.Chapter 5summarizes the useful experience from the task and gives my reflections on the problems and deficiencies in this translation practice.
