Women images under the pen of western male authors could be divided into two parts: they are either chaste as pure angle in the heaven or devil as demon in the hell.Women images in literature works separate themselves from social reality, behind which are male authors' demonizations toward them.Confined to patriarchal literature traditions, male authors would shape the obedient women images deliberately to depreciate, even to suppress them in society. This thesis is to analyze the demonization of three female figures Desdemona,Emilia and Bianca in William Shakespeare's drama Othello from the perspective of feminism, which mirror the dramatist's outlook on women and his misogyny complex. On the basis of systematic analysis of all the main heroines in Othello, there appears a brand new outlook that all of female characters have been demonized by male characters or the dramatist without exception.Males would take advantage of their speech leadership to slander and defame females who have been viewed as their personal property.Having been presented as shameless, unmoral whores, two of these three pure females' unnatural deaths in the end as well as later proved chastity are all demonstrations of Shakespeare's and male characters' strong misogyny tendency. This thesis tends to give a profound interpretation of three female figures' tragic lives and males' common misogyny tendency from aspects of Feminism and misogyny in feminist literature after a concrete discussion. This thesis has been divided into three parts: first one is the introduction which will give a brief introduction to the dramatist and the social environment where he had lived, main contents of Othello and its dominating characters,as well its theoretical basis: the Feminism. The body part will be dedicated to analyze males' language insults, dignity insults as well as their lives shattering. The conclusion part will point out the overwhelming misogynists' complex which have been hidden from their insulting languages and ruthless behaviors.
