The Comparison Of Administrative Measures Between The Eastern Wei And Northern Qi Dynasties,the Western Wei And Northern Zhou Dynasties

In the last few years of the Northern Wei Dynasty,the wave of national uprisings divided the Northern Wei Dynasty into two parts,namely,the Eastern Wei and the Western Wei Dynasties.Later,the Eastern Wei was replaced by the Northern Qi while the Western Wei was replaced by the Northern Zhou.The Eastern Wei and Northern Qi Dynasties,which was rich in population,economy and military,were finally swallowed by the weak the Western Wei and Northern Zhou Dynasties. The thesis aims to reveal the reason that leads to the collapse of the Northern Zhou through making contrast research to the economy,politics,military and the domestic ethnic relationships of the two dynasties.On the economic front,the article has made contrast research into fields like agrarianism,labor rent,servants,agricultural encouragement and water conservancy projects.The study shows that the two dynasties implemented the same measures while that of the Western Wei and Northern Zhou was much more effective,which enables the Western Wei with a better economic power to destroy the Eastern Wei.On the political front,both the two dynasties implemented reforms in administration of officials,talent recruitment,local governments and the centralization of authority,however,the effect of the Western Wei was much more complete,making it a steady and fair and honest society.On the military front,the article has made contrast research into the military system of the two dynasties.It turns out that the military system of the Western Wei is much better than that of the Eastern Wei.The military system of the Western Wei,namely,Fu Bing system,improved the battle effectiveness of its army.On the front of ethnical relationship,both the dynasties implemented the Han Culture and paid much attention to Confucianism. However,the Eastern Wei was hesitate to accept the Han Culture while the Western Wei is eager to accept the Culture and popularized the learning of Confucianism.Both the two dynasties adopted policy to deal with Xianbei People.However,there appeared a conflict of the surname transformation between the Han and the northern minorities in the Eastern Wei Dynasties while in the Western Wei,there was no complete denying of the surname of the Han nationality.The latter also applied this into military and it helped to resolve the conflicts between the soldiers of Xianbei and Han.On the front of foreign policies,the article has made research into their relationship with minorities like Liang,Rouran,Tujue and Chen.It shows that the Western Wei adopted a much more active foreign policy.
