Objective To investigate on awareness level of the related knowledge of Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection among the gastroenterology nurses from the top three hospitals of Gansu Province and analyze the influencing factors. Methods A random sampling and geographic sampling method was used to conduct a face-to-face survey of 313 nurses from the department of gastroenterology(including gastroscopes)in the 19 Level-Three A Hospitals of Gansu province by using a self-administered questionnaire. The survey involves the general information of the surveyed subjects, their attitudes and learning situations of learning Hp infection-related knowledge, and Hp infection-related knowledge.According to the survey results, descriptive statistics were made on the three aspects involved in the questionnaire, including the number of cases, rate,or composition ratio.Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore the factors affecting nurses' mastery of Hp infection-related knowledge. Results 1.A total of 313 questionnaires were distributed and 313 complete questionnaires were collected. The recovery rate was 100%,of which 19 were unqualified questionnaires,294 were valid questionnaires, and the effective rate was 93.9%.2.A survey of the attitudes and learning situations of mastering Hp infection-related knowledge revealed that 268 persons thought Hp infection knowledge should be fully grasped, accounting for 91.16% of the total;272 persons believed that Hp infection knowledge played a major role in nursing work guidance, accounting for 92.52%;the number of participants who took part in collective learning of Hp-related knowledge more than 6 times in the past year was 77,which accounted for 26.19%;44 persons were very familiar with the 5th National Consensus Report on Hp Infection Treatment, accounting for 14.97%;there were 81 persons who acquired Hp infection knowledge by 3 or more means, accounting for 27.55%;among them, the number of the persons who acquired Hp infection knowledge through medical textbooks was the largest.3.The survey results of awareness level of Hp infection-related knowledge showed that theGastroenterology nurses from the top three hospitals in Gansu Province had different correct recognition rates of Hp basic conditions,Hp relevant diseases,Hp infection symptoms,Hp infection detection methods,Hp infection eradication solutions,Hp infection transmission routes,Hp infection relevant factors and Hp infection prevention methods and their average correct recongnition rates were respectively 72.45%,39.64%,60.54%,55.14%,65.64%,74.38%,52.99%,75.28%;the complete mastering rates were 20.75% and 5.44%,respectively.18.71%,2.72%,1.36%,9.86%,16.67%,0.4.The analysis of the factors which affected the nurses on grasping the Hp infection-related knowledge showed the ages of nurses(r=0.124,p=0.033)and working ages(r=0.150,p=0.010)were positively correlated with their understanding of the Hp basic conditions;the ages of nurses(r=-0.172,p=0.003)and working ages(r=-0.167,p=0.004)were negatively correlated with their understanding of Hp infection relevant factors;nurses' learning frequency of Hp knowledge(r=0.130,p =0.026)were positively correlated with Hp infection prevention knowledge. Conclusions The general knowledge of Hp infection-related knowledge among the gastroenterology nurses from the top three hospitals in Gansu Province was poor, and the ages of nurses, working ages and the learning frequency of Hp knowledge were closely related to the knowledge of some Hp infection-related knowledge.
