Objective:To investigate the short-term and long-term effect of different eating order of carbohydrate in mixed food on blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes patients.Method:Two parts were included in this study, part 1 for short-term effect study.20 type 2diabetes patients, who were treated only with oral antidiabetic drugs, were chosen to take the same test diet 3 times in different eating order, whose therapeutic regimen were unchanged through the study. They were required to take the carbohydrate of the mixed food in the early, middle and last phase respectively in the successive Wednesday. The blood glucose of diabetes patients were measured at 0,30,60 and 120 minutes after the meal, and then were compared between different eating orders.Part 2 was for the long-term effect study.Sixty type 2 diabetes patients, who were treated only with oral antidiabetic drugs, were separated into three groups randomly.During the study, their therapeutic regimen were unchanged. The daily diet was taken as the test meal. They were required to take carbohydrate in the early, middle and last phase of the mixed food respectively for 3 months. The Hb A1 c was compared between different groups at both the beginning and end of the study.Result:In short-term effect study, fast blood glucose in early phase group, middle phase group and last phase group was 7.23±1.12、7.26±1.05、7.27±1.06mmol/L successively,no significant difference was found between each other(p≥0.05).The postprandial blood glucose 30 minutes after the test meal in early phase group, middle phase group and last phase group was 9.54±1.25、7.55±1.19、7.29±1.04mmol/L successively, significant difference was found between early phase group and middle phase group, early phase group and last phase group(p<0.05).The postprandial blood glucose 60 minutes after the test meal in early phase group, middle phase group and last phase group was 12.46±1.25、10.40±1.23、8.59±1.25mmol/L successively, significant difference was found between early phase group and middle phase group, early phase group and last phase group, middle phase group and last phase group(p < 0.05).The postprandial blood glucose 120 minutes after the test meal in early phase group, middle phase group and last phase group was 11.47±1.33、10.76±1.51、9.40±1.21mmol/L successively, significant difference was found between early phase group and last phase group, middle phase group and last phase group(p < 0.05).In long-term effect study, glycosylated hemoglobin A1 c in early phase group, middle phase group and last phase group at the beginning of the study was7.37±0.40、7.31±0.33、7.26±0.24%successively,no significant difference was found between each other(p≥ 0.05).Three months later, glycosylated hemoglobin A1 c in early phase group, middle phase group and last phase group was 7.38±0.28、7.24±0.32、7.13±0.33%successively,significant difference was found between early phase group and last phase group(p < 0.05).Both the level of postprandial blood glucose at all the time point and the hemoglobin A1 declined as the eating order of carbonate moved from front to backward in generally. Conclusion:Relatively, eating carbohydrate in last phase is the best way for diabetes patients, eating carbohydrate in middle phase comes second, and eating carbohydrate in early phase is the worst way.In contrast to conventional methods of diet control,it is easy to change eating order, and it is worthy to spread out. |
