Objective:?To understand the cognition and practice of surgical site infection prevention and control measures for nurses in neurosurgery in 3A-level comprehensive hospitals of Shanxi Province, and to discuss and analyze the influencing factors;?To clarify the difference between the current situation of clinical practice of nursing and the standards for prevention and control guidelines, and put forward suggestions for improvement;?To explore the intervention mode of prevention and control behavior in surgical site infection of neurosurgical nurses and to improve the compliance of prevention and control measures,so as to provide reference and guidance for hospital managers to carry out prevention and control of surgical site infections in the future.Contents and Methods:The survey research:To investigate the neurosurgical nurses status on cognition and practice of surgical site infection prevention and control using a self-designed questionnaire. In order to reduce the impact of nurses' personal subjectivity on the research results, two methods of self-assessment and others evaluation were adopted in the compliance investigation. This study conducted a questionnaire survey for nurses and patients in 5 of 3A-level comprehensive hospitals in Shanxi Province. The sample size was calculated according to the Kendall principle.Finally,340 nurses and 130 patients were selected. The effective questionnaires were 325 and 120 respectively. The effective recoveries were 95.59% and 92.31% respectively. The quasi-randomized controlled trial:Through the convenience of sampling,Neurosurgery nurses from 2 of 3A-level comprehensive hospitals in Shanxi Province were selected as the study object. One of the hospital neurosurgery 68 nurses as a control group, who learned and were managed generally;another hospital neurosurgery 73 nurses as the intervention group and applied action-oriented approach to intervene.Prior to the implementation of interventions, the basic information of the object of study and practice of prevention and control measures of surgical site infection were investigated to ensure comparability of baseline data of two groups of study subjects.According to Ebbinghaus' memory theory, the intervention time was set to 12 weeks.During the intervention,to reduce the impact of bias factors on the results, communication between the two groups of nurses was reduced. After 12 weeks of intervention, investigated the neurosurgical nurses practice status of prevention and control of surgical site infection again and conducted horizontal and vertical comparison to evaluate the effect of the intervention. Results:?The scores of neurosurgical nurses surgical site infection prevention and control knowledge and behavior compliance were(9.35 ± 1.24)and(6.71 ±0.87)respectively,and they were in a significant positive correlation(r = 0.465,P = 0.003).?Neurosurgery nurses' cognition and behavioral compliance with surgical site infections were affected by factors such as whether to participate in clinical teaching, the number of times of surgical site infection prevention and control training, and the attention of management on prevention and control of surgical site infection.?Through implementing action-oriented approach, the neurosurgical nurses in the intervention group had significantly higher cognitive level and behavioral compliance in prevention and control measures of surgical site infection, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclusion:The neurosurgery nurses' cognition of SSI's prevention and control measures was at an above-average level, and there was a gap between the current status of clinicalpractice and the standards for prevention and control guidelines. The action-oriented approach is effective in improving nurses' cognitive level and behavioral compliance.
