The Second Affiliated Hospital of NanChang University ? The Third Affiliated Hospital of NanChang University ? Jiangxi People's Hospital).A face-to-face questionnaire survey was conducted on 124 dyads composed of diabetic foot patients and their primary caregivers who met the inclusion criteria in the Department of Endocrinology and the outpatient department.Investigation tools applied in this paper are general demographic information and questionnaire consisting of Sense of Coherence-13Scale(SOC-13),Caregiver Burden Interview(ZBI),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),Barthel Index(BI).SPSS22.0,a statistical software,is used to organize and analyze valid data.Results:(1)The score of sense of coherence among primary caregivers of patients with diabetic foot was 59.44±9.02,and the score of comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness was 22.56±4.47?19.49±3.99?17.39±2.86.(2)The score of care burden among primary caregivers of patients with diabetic foot was 25.31±14.51.79 percent primary caregivers reported that they had low care burden and 21 percent perceived high care burden.(3)The score of social support among primary caregivers of patients with diabetic foot was 38.33±6.82,The score of subjective support?objective support?utilization of social support was(23.62±4.76)points?(7.82±2.68)points?(6.89±1.69)points.(4)The results of single factor analysis showed that duration of disease?Wagner?classification?Barthel index(self-care ability)and the primary caregivers' gender?education degree?family economic status?time spent caring were influenced the primary caregivers' SOC,statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)Correlation analysis showed that the SOC of primary caregivers of patients with diabetic foot was negatively related to care burden(P<0.01),positively related to social support(P<0.01).(6)Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis results showed that the main factors that affect the SOC among the primary caregivers of diabetic foot patients are as follows :social support ? family economic status ? care burden ? Barthel index(self-care ability)and the duration of disease.Conclusions:(1)The SOC among the primary caregivers of diabetic foot patients is at a lower level, the degree of care burden is relatively low and the degree of social support is a little bit higher than moderate.(2)Family economic status?social support?care burden?Barthel index(self-care ability)and the duration of disease are the main influencing factors of the SOC among the primary caregivers of diabetic foot patients.(3)Medical staff should pay attention to the SOC among the primary caregivers of diabetic foot patients from the aspects of patients, caregivers, society and so on,so as to improve the mental health level of the primary caregivers, and then to improve the quality of life of diabetic foot patients and their caregivers.
