Objective:To investigate the safety and feasibility of laparoscopic surgery of rectal cancer as well as the long-term survival rate. Methods: The case study was made on clinical data of 472 cases of rectal cancer from January 2010 to December 2013 in Xin Jiang Medical University, with 243 cases of laparoscopic surgery(laparoscopic group)and 229 cases of open surgery(laparotomy group).A retrospective analysis was made on clinical data and follow-up care by comparing the 2 groups. Results: There was no significant statistical difference in surgery time between the laparoscopic group and the laparotomy group,[(237±42.5)min vs(232±40.4)min,p > 0.05].In terms of the blood loss[(48±19.3)ml vs(109±29.3)ml] and the after-surgery exhaust time[(3,1~9)d vs(4,2~12)d],the laparoscopic group did better than the laparotomy group(p < 0.05).Meanwhile,there is no statistical difference in the length of resected specimen, distance of distal resection margin to lower margin, the tumour size, the number of lymph node metastasis and prophylactic ileostomy. The median follow-up lasted 40(1~83)months while the laparoscopic group took the median follow-up for 41(1~80)months and the laparotomy group did it for 40(1~83)months.During the follow-up,there is no statistical difference in the local recurrence rate and the distant metastasis rate between the two groups. There is no statistical difference in the total of survival rate as well as the tumour-free survival rate. Also, nothing different happened for staged ⅠⅡ Ⅲ rectal cancer patients.(p > 0.05).Conclusion: The laparoscopic radical surgery of rectal cancer is safe and feasible with satisfying effects, which has the same Long-term survival rate as the laparotomy one does. |
