Objective: To assess the intervention effect of transitional empowerment education on their quality of life in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)and to analyze the factors affecting the quality of life,so as to provide clinicians information on effective intervention strategy pattern. Methods: From January 2015 to June 2016,156 IBD cases from Wuhan Tongji hospital were randomly divided into traditional care group(n=78)and transitional empowerment education group(n=78).The patients in traditional care group received clinic outpatient follow-up,and the patients in transitional empowerment education group received follow-up led by IBD management team.IBD patients in two groups were investigated with self-management ability questionnaire,self-efficacy scale, and quality of life questionnaire before hospital discharge and in the sixth month after intervention. The influencing factors of life quality were analyzed by multivariate linear equation. Results: After discharge 3 months and 6 months, the average scores of self-management ability(t=3.247,P<0.001;t=7.219,P<0.001),the Self-efficacy(t=2.06,P=0.03;t=2.451,P=0.01),quality of life(t=3.954,P<0.001;t=6.56,P<0.001)in empowerment education intervention group patients were significantly higher than those in traditional care group.Regression analysis showed that the influencing factors for improving quality of life were usefulness of knowledge provided by activity(t=7.856,P<0.001),frequency of attending empowerment group activities(t=6.132,P<0.001),self-management scores(t=4.547,P<0.001),self-efficacy scores(t=7.214,P<0.001).Conclusion: Transitional empowerment education can improve self-management ability,self-efficacy,quality of life in IBD patients.
