Objective:To understand the epidemiological characteristics of perinatal birth defects,the basic situation and pregnancy history of mothers who give birth to birth defects,and to analysis social demography and clinical characteristics of birth defects in Jilin Province,and find the effective intervention measures to prevent birth defects.Methods:The study relies on the data of birth defects from the surveillance system,mainly include “birth defects registration card” and “perinatal infants dead quarterly” which was filled by all monitoring hospitals in Jilin province from 2011 to 2015.The subjects of this study are infant(included the live,the dead,or died)with all full 28 weeks pregnancy to 7 days after the inpatient delivery during October 1,2010 to September 30,2010.The data was input and statistical described using EXCEL software after which was collected and sorted out.Results:The epidemiological characteristics of perinatal birth defects: A total of 942,028 perinatal infants were monitored.Birth defects occurred in 8,270 perinatal infants and the five-year average incidence rate of birth defects was 87.79 /10,000,and lower than the national level.The incidence of birth defects was higher in urban areas(104.13/10,000)than in rural areas(72.61/10,000).More male infants(96.57/10,000)were involved than the female(77.26/10,000).The incidence rate of birth defects in the mothers age >35 years(99.95/10,000)was higher than those of other age groups(86.31/10,000).The incidence rate of birth defects in the mothers age >35 years appeared an increase trend.The top 5 birth defects were congenital heart disease,polydactyl,cleft lip,external ear and other malformations,congenital hydrocephalus.The congenital heart disease occurrence possibility and polydactyl occurrence possibility appeared an increase trend year by year.On the contrary,the congenital hydrocephalus,external ear and other malformations and cleft lip occurrence possibility appeared a decrease trend.The basic situation of maternal and birth defects: From 2011 to 2015,the proportion of birth defects was highest(72.33%)when household income was from4,000 to 8,000 yuan and(50.30%)when the number of pregnancies was once and(43.01%)when maternal education level was second school.Birth defects and clinical characteristics of social demography: From 2011 to2015,the average gestational age of birth defects was 37 weeks and the average weight was 2855 grams.More male infants were involved than the female,and the sex radio is 135.52:1.The survival rate of birth defects was 68.88%.The diagnosis of birth defects mainly based on clinical and ultrasonic diagnosis,accounting for 59.65%and 39.87% respectively.Birth defect diagnosis to within 7 days after the diagnosis is given priority to,68.60%.Conclusion:The incidence of birth defects was lower than the national level,but showed increasing trend in Jilin province from 2011 to 2015.The incidence of birth defects was higher in urban areas than in rural areas.More male infants were involved than the female.The incidence rate of birth defects in the mothers age >35 years was higher than those of other age groups.The top 5 birth defects were congenital heart disease,polydactyl,cleft lip,external ear and other malformations,congenital hydrocephalus.The diagnosis of birth defects mainly based on clinical and ultrasound diagnosis,and the time of diagnosis was mainly within postpartum 7 days.
