Currently, cardiovascular diseases are great threats to human health.Cardiovascular diseases are extremely prevalent among various diseases, with a large number of patients and being widely spread. In addition, there is a trend of continued and rapid growth for cardiovascular diseases.Expensive treatment expenses have brought heavy economic burden to family and society. Therefore,it is a major project for researchers to solve immediately in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.Pulse wave,as a basic physiological signal of the human body, contains rich information about the physiology and pathology of the cardiovascular system.By acquiring and analyzing pulse wave signal, the state of the human cardiovascular system can be predicted or diagnosed. This thesis aims to present a more accurate modeling and simulation method of the real human body, providing the new idea and basic theory on the development of medical equipments and the clinical diagnosis.Modeling of the cardiovascular system was mainly studied in the whole cardiovascular system, whereas the local vascular system was rarely investigated. Therefore, this thesis will establish the Windkessel model, the elastic tube model and the model combining the Windkessel model and the elastic tube model in the local of the upper limb vascular system, respectively. The optimal model is obtained through comparing and analyzing waveforms of the three models. In this thesis, the structure is as follows.Firstly, this thesis introduces the research background and significance of this project, and elaborates the current research status of the Windkessel model and the elastic tube model.Secondly, the basic theory of the cardiovascular system is stated. Then the Windkessel model, the elastic tube model and the combined model are established, respectively.Meanwhile, the parameters of the models are estimated. Finally,by comparing and analyzing waveforms from three models, the most appropriate model can be chosen to simulate physiological characteristics of the upper limb vascular system. The contribution of this thesis is the combination of the two kinds of mathematical models, namely the model combining the Windkessel with the elastic tube. This thesis is based on the physical properties of the upper limb vascular system to integrate advantages of the two models. Then by applying the principle of hemodynamics of the cardiovascular system and combining with the knowledge of anatomy, the model of the Windkessel combining with the elastic tube from the brachial artery to the finger artery was established.Experimental results showed that this model can more accurately simulate the physiological state in the upper limb vascular system.
