| Objective:This meta-analysis was conducted to determine whether ACB of FNB provides better pain relief and functional recovery after TKA.Methods: A systematic search of PubMed,the Cochrane Library,Embase,Web of Science,CNKI,VIP,Wangfang.Comparative studies comparing ACB with FNB were included. Two authors independently assessed data extraction and quality of the studies. Results: Eight literatures fitted into the inclusion criteria.Compared with the FNB group, the ACB exhibited a significant in quadriceps muscle strength(assessed by MVIC,p < 0.00001),ambulation ability(assessed by TUG test,p<0.00001)and the risk of falls(p=0.03).There were no significant differences in pain score with rest or mobilization at 8,24,and 48 h between ACB group and FNB group. There were also no significant differences in the length of hospital stay,Opioid consumption、Patient satisfaction and complications. Conclusions: Compared with femoral nerve block, adductor canal block provides equally effective analgesia after TKA,adductor canal blockade provided faster recovery post TKA as compared to femoral nerve block. |
