Aims:To evaluate the diagnostic value of MS-CTA in the patients with coronary artery fistula considering the current gold standard method as Digital Subtraction Angiography(DSA).Settings and Design:This is a Retrospective study. Methods and Materials:Among 117 patients,35 patients who were diagnosed to have CAF and who had undergone both MS-CTA and DSA were included. The origin, course and termination of coronary arteries were studied and analyzed;and the diagnostic accuracy of MS-CTA was evaluated in accordance with the DSA.Statistical analysis used:PASW software version 20.0(SPSS/IBM,Inc.,Chicago,IL).Results:The sensitivity of MS-CTA in the diagnosis of CAF was found to be 94.286%.Among 35 subjects,18 were males and 17 were females with a mean age of 59.06±7.364 years.MS-CTA had provided definitive diagnosis of CAF in 28 cases(80%),possibility of CAF in 5 cases(14.29%)and completely denied the presence of any fistula in 2 cases(5.71%).MS-CTA illustrated single origin in 2 cases, which were found to have multiple origins in DSA.On the contrary,in 4 cases,it displayed multiple origins, but found to have single origin in DSA.MS-CTA misguided the origin of fistula in 2 cases, completely misdiagnosed 1 case in the course of termination, and in 5 cases,it was unable to find the course of termination. Conclusions:To assist in the diagnosis of CAF,MS-CTA has an important clinical significance to detect the presence of the origin, course and termination of malformation of coronary arteries.
