| OBJECTIVE: To evaluate clinical effects of combing CBCT with dental operating microscope on treating difficult root canals.METHODS: A total of 26 patients which were treated with micro-endodontics and cone-beam computed tomography were included in this study. All of these cananls were examined by four different methods that including the digital radiography, macrography with 10#K-file,10#K-file and dental operative microscope,Cone beam computerized tomography. Then record the number of root canal dredging in three different ways:macrography, dental operative microscope and root canal microscope combined with CBCT.RESULTS: Cone Bean Computed Tomography images images can distinctly demonstrate the morphology and orientation of the root canal system in three dimensions providing definite information for the diagnosis of difficult patients.80 root canals were identified by CBCT,74 intractable root canals were identified by dental operating microscope that significantly higer than digital rasiography and clinical inspection.76 root canals were negotiated with dental operative microscope and CBCT,62 canals were negotiated with dental operative microscope,4 root canals weren’t negotiated.CONCLUSION: In this small sample of clinical studies,we can found that the CBCT combined with root canal microscope is helpful to the diagnosis and treatment of complex root canals,to improve the survival rate of tooth. |
